Santorum and Hoekstra have been trying very hard to tie some 500 Pre-1991 WMDs that we've turned up in Iran to President Bush's origional rational for war.

Fox News has been pushing the story despite being shot down by the Defense Department. AlterNet provides a pretty decent counterpoint to Santorum's and Hoekstra's claims but the kicker is this line.

A Defense Department official [said] flatly that the munitions hyped by Santorum and Hoekstra are "not the WMD's for which this country went to war."
