GOP Pundit Jack Burkman Outed In DC Madam Scandal

advertisement

Remember June 16th, 2006? That's when Burkman got exposed by a couple of girls on MySpace and posted Crooksandliars graphics of Jack to check him out. Her site is set to private now, but Wonkette still has some info…They called him a "CREEEEP"

Via Citizens for Legitimate Government:

The phone number for GOP political operative/conservative pundit, John (Jack) M. Burkman Jr. - Principal J.M. Burkman & Associates, Arlington, VA - appears in the database of phone records of the 'DC Madam.' From the phone logs: 2006-01-15 18:44 1.00

What's this?
Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

Another bites the dust. Berkman's reputation proceeds him as you can see from the clipped test.

It would be interesting to know how may republicans vs demcorats or conservatives vs liberals are found in the list.

Jedi, there will be no way of knowing that, as many of those people will just be average shmoes, and there's really no reason (or interest in) outing non-public figures.

However, while many on the left will take great glee as Republicans are found on the list, and revel in charges of hypocrisy, we really shouldn't be surprised if there's quite a few Dems on that list. As much as we'd like to think otherwise, vice and stupidity DO cross party lines.

And for what it's worth, I think the Democrats should do a better job of dealing with corruption in their own ranks, if for no other reason than to make the Republicans look bad. And its the right thing to do.

Get it all out in the open I say. If you're in public office you've no business trying to break the laws you expect the rest of us to uphold. If Ted Kennedy's phone number turns up he should be taken to task just as fast as anyone on the right.

In his role as a Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee interviewing nominees for appointment to the Supreme Court it is Kennedy's JOB, no mke that his DUTY, to dig into their backgrounds. His own failings have no bearing on his ability to form a question nor on the right of the Committee and public to get answers.

As I have said repeatedly, what people choose to do in private with consenting adults is of no interest to me. When law makers break the laws that they are not only sworn to uphold but have staked as their righteous moral high ground and then are found to be hypocritical, criminal liars it matters.

You've got more corporate PR soundbites in your seeds than anyone I've seen here in a while like the eco-terrorist nonsense when one nut job blows up an SUV dealer weighed against gun deaths in America equal to one Vietnam every 22 months. It's hard to see how you're not helping promote the worst of it.

Determined doesn't understand because he has to keep digging in the 2-3 decade old past to bolster his argument.

Along with fantasy that is all most on the right have to talk about. The plethora of material that this administration and their pundits provide us each day is almost overwhelming. Those trying to defend these positions can't be blamed for not making any sense since they are so untenable to begin with.

Using delusional logic sadly does not seem to be the sole domain of the president.

The atrocities occuring each day whether here or in Iraq are not as important as eco terrorism and China seeding rain clouds or rock musicians agreeing with Gore etc. Anything to deflect from what is important.

Very probably -- though having spoken with James Carville and his lovely wife I can personally assure you that if he ever frequented one of these ladies of questionable repute she'd eat his lungs for breakfast in a hollandaise sauce.

Funny how most of these stories all end up with some kind of link to The Mayflower Hotel. I frequent the bar there on occasion and one visit several years back with a date who worked at State I was harrassed by a rather insistent hooker. Things got to the point that I had to get Sam to throw her out.

My office is at 18th and K. The Mayflower underwent a major refurbishment several years ago to the tune of several hundred million $$s. The Hay-Adams just reopened after a similar facelift. On 9/11 The Mayflower's Town & Country Room was the only joint open around these parts after the mayor declared a state of emergency. No alchohol could be served though and me, Helen Thomas and a few others could have used a cocktail with lunch.

It was my 10th trip to DC this year and I've only stayed at the Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, and Key Bridge Marriott. All were nice hotels and apparently renovated in the past few years, but I've stayed at better hotels in other cities. I've read that hotels should renovate every 5-7 years, but each of the hotels I've stayed at in the DC area showed either wear and tear or lack of diligence in cleaning. The common areas were nice, especially the bars and restaurants, but the rooms needed some extra attention. The complaint that I overheard about the Mayflower was that the air conditioning was lacking. Of course the temperature was hitting the high 90's at the time and apparently the people I overheard thought it could have been a little bit cooler in their rooms.

Funny you should mention that. The Key Bridge Marriott (for a modern hotel) is ancient (built in the early '60s). The Capitol Hilton downtown is also set for a renovation. Next time try the Marriott Wardman Park up by the zoo.

I didn't know it was built in the '60s but I knew the Key Bridge Marriott was old. I was in one of the executive suites the last time I stayed there, which was considerably better than the regular room I had been in on a previous visit. My room in the Capitol Hilton looked like it was poorly planned. They had installed marble tiles in the bathroom but the result was that the bathroom floor was higher than the room floor. Not good if the toilet or shower overflows. The toilet was much closer to the wall than it should have been, meaning that to sit comfortably one has to twist to the side. At least the air conditioning worked well. I think I'm supposed to be in DC again around the middle of September, so I'll see about getting a room at the Marriott Wardman Park.
