TMZ is now reporting that this story is inaccurate and that Hilton still stands to inherit as much as 30 Million.
PARTY princess Paris Hilton is $60 million out of pocket after her billionaire grandfather - appalled by her jail term for drink-driving offences - axed her inheritance.
Family patriarch Barron Hilton was already embarrassed by his granddaughter's wild behaviour - notably when her home sex video was leaked on the internet.
But the 79-year-old considered her 23-day sentence last month the last straw.
"He was, and is, extremely embarrassed by how the Hilton name has been sullied by Paris," says Jerry Oppenheimer, who wrote a biography of the clan called House Of Hilton.
"He now doesn't want to leave unearned wealth to his family."
Generally I wouldn't seed anything about Paris' latest antics but this really isn't about her so much as her grandfather.
Barron Hilton is protecting his family name. Good for him. Good for all of us really. Paris serves as a role model for far too many girls. Seeing her booted from her grandfather's will might serve to temper that image.
Personally I'm over the media's addiction to the Paris Hilton saga. It's boring but it sure does sell newspapers. I'm hopeful but not convinced this is the last we'll hear about Paris. Surely there are more interesting people in this world?

Me too, friend. But this kind of instant karma is just too sweet not to relish just a little tiny bit.
;-]

I really just want to see one more picture of her sobbing, rending her clothing. Well... I guess we have enough of the latter... but her sobbing is just priceless! (Well... at least worth 60,000,000) :D
I hope Paris' grandfather donates her entire inheritance to the homeless. How do you spend $60m in one life time anyway?

Yeah, I was having a moral debate in my head about even clicking on this story. But I'm actually glad I did, just because I got to see this line:
He now doesn't want to leave unearned wealth to his family.
How do you spend $60m in one life time anyway?
It takes government to waste money that fast, but they can do it in less than a day not a lifetime for a measly $60 million.
Generally I wouldn't seed anything about Paris' latest antics
Mmm-hmmm.
How do you spend $60m in one life time anyway?
Give me $60m and I will show you. Hell, I wouldn't even need a life time.

In the interest of "Citizen Journalism" and equal female celebrity from hell time on Newsvine, would you be so kind as to post a Lindsey Lohan seed along with the obligatory comment stating that normally you are above hoi polloi trash? Thank you in advance.
#1.9
Sorry. Generally I wouldn't seed anything about Lindsey's latest antics. Unless her grandfather is involved, of course.
The Hilton chain was recently sold to a private equity firm which is newsworthy, but not nearly as newsworthy as Paris Hilton losing her inheritance.
Heh. When Liz Taylor was married to Nicky his brother Barron said that if he and his other brother Erik also had Liz between the three of them she'd have a "yard of c**k".
I can't help but notice Schnoo, that out of your 725 seeds, 3 regard Paris Hilton, giving your a "Paris Percentage" of 0.4%. By way of comparison, I have four seeds tagged with Paris Hilton, one of which is really a critique of CNN for choosing to drop an interview with Michael Moore for one with her -- so three seeds that are actually about her.
Out of my 2208 seeds that gives me a Paris Percentage of 3/2208 = 0.1%
Michael, you've got 10 seeds in total so I really can't run any meaningful numbers on you save to note that you seem to have a deep and profound hatred of Daily Kos.
I agree. I think it's about time Paris had to pay for her actions. She's probably never had anyone say no to her ever. About time she's called to account for her life and since she hasn't seemed repentant at all, I can't really blame her grandfather for axing her inheritance. Make her actually earn her money. If she can figure out how to do that besides letting paparazzi take pics of her digging sand out of her bikini bottom.
Though I will have to admit, the idea of her greeting at wal-mart is pretty funny! ;-)

A mild difference may reside in the somewhat obscure fact that I have never been a Paris seeder denier.
You've seeded Paris? Did you videotape it and put it on the web?
I couldn't recreate that funky green light, so I never released it, so to speak.
As I said - I generally wouldn't seed Paris related material -- and I think her status as comprising only slightly more than one one-thousandth of my seed content rather proves that.
We should all post a Paris story
Who cares? Paris will die 100 years from now with $60 million less. She'll still die a billionaire.

When you say you "couldn't recreate that funky green light," were you referring to the same green light with which Gatsby was obsessed?
Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before us.
How do you spend $60m in one life time anyway?
Have you priced a nice yacht lately?
Or a small war?
You mean like a one-day war?
How do you spend $60m in one life time anyway?
Obviously you need a collection of several-hundred-dollar-a-piece designer handbangs to go with your collection of several-hundred-dollar-a-piece designer shoes to go with your obnoxious designer clothes collection. And all of these things can be worn once and only once, otherwise you're just a bum; your friends will leave you and society will shun you.
You have to accessorize!
How do you spend $60m in one life time anyway?
I would develop a series of prototype communities. Each community, designed to be self-sustaining and environmentally low impact and centered around several employee run businesses, would house between 1000 to 5000 persons with cradle to grave support of all needs. I would start in an urban area, like Oakland, but on higher ground. I would do my best to provide the most opportunities for the people being displaced by my activities, as I would attempt to reclaim the worst of the slums.
I suspect it would take more than one lifetime. ::sigh::

That actually was Walt Disney's motivation for creating EPCOT which is an acronym for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow.
Killfile @ 1.13 have you been hanging out with Tom?
I like Paris.
I don't understand how Paris Hilton aggravates so many people so much. What's to hate?
Wow. Score one for grandad. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure her parents will leave her well enough off and she does have her appearance fees and TV money. I don't expect to see her greeting at Wal-Mart any time in the near future.
Ha ha this @!$%# finally got what was coming to her. Hopefully her parents will do the same thing!
Do I smell another Brittney-esque trip down poverty lane? Soon she'll be applying for waitressing jobs at resturaunts in downtown Manhattan.
Does she have some experience as a day laborer in the farm industry?
Oh gosh... really... this is so bad.
File this under "just desserts."
I file it under "things for kids to learn about from a distance so hopefully they won't have to learn the hard way." There are so many kids who emulate Paris and Britney without understanding that there are consequences for their behavior.
An interesting side note; I saw a gossip magazine that said "100% Paris Free" on the cover to help it's self.
This seed makes my heart all warm & fuzzy.
I'm having a Nick Carraway moment:
In my younger and more vulnerable years, my father gave me some advice that I've been turning over in my mind ever since. "Whenever you feel like criticizing anyone," he told me, "just remember that all the people in this world haven't had the advantages you've had." While reserving judgments is a matter of infinite hope, I've come to admit that my tolerance of human behavior has its limits. Gatsby, the man who gives his name to this story, represented everything for which I have an unaffected scorn. And yet there was something gorgeous about him. Some hightened sensitivity to the promises of life, a romantic readiness such as I've never found in any other person and which it is not likely I'll ever find again.
So. Who is Gatsby?
Some guy whose real name was James Gatz who rose from an impoverished childhood in rural North Dakota to become fabulously wealthy by participating in organized crime, including distributing illegal alcohol and trading in stolen securities.
Seems I read something about him, but it was a long time ago. I remember something about a wasteland, but that may have been a different guy.
The valley of ashes was a stretch of barren land under the watchful eyes of Dr. Eckleburg.
Nah, I was thinking of Eliot. George. That Middlemarch was a total Waste Land of my time.
I knew you were alluding to T.S. Eliot. I was oh so cleverly drawing a parallel between the valley of ashes symbolism in The Great Gatsby to The Wasteland. Obviously, my intellect as well as literary knowledge is far superior to yours since you failed to see the comparison. Why I waste my time even discussing with you matters of such elite status as Jay Gatsby puzzles me.
I could blow you out of the water with my vast knowledge of obscure 19th C British literature, but it would be too easy and I'm not that much of a showdog (though that appears to be your peculiar breeding).
But, at least we'll always have Paris.
I never hit that.
poor lil girl...
Can't say I didn't see that coming.
Just as a point of perspective, I would like to point out that Ms. Hilton's notoriety is actually less about her, and more about the public need to vicariously live their fantasies through the actions of others. I do not condone her behavior; it's categorically over the top, but it is not substantially different from the behavior of several thousand other well-to-do young people in the Hollywood area. If we, as the public consumers, did not support, in a major way, the media attention given to Ms. Hilton, she would have been a social non-event.
We create our heroes and anti-heroes to compensate for those areas lacking in our lives. We reward, or punish, them according to our needs more than according to what has actually transpired. Paris Hilton's behavior, while hedonistic to a fault, has been influenced by the attention the public has showered upon her, to a large extent and if it had not been there, her motivation to "act out" would have been substantially less.
Another name that could have used some protection is the Hilton hotel chain.
The Hilton family does not own Hilton Hospitality, Inc. anymore. And Hilton Hospitality, Inc. does not even own a significant portion of the hotels that market themselves as Hilton.
Some hotels in exchange for using the Hilton brand, accept management support from Hilton Hospitality, Inc. while others are wholly owned by the company.
Recently a hedge fund or something bought Hilton Hospitality, Inc. If it was my money, the first thing I would have done was launch a very public re-branding campaign, use the sale as an excuse to escape the Hilton name, family and reputation.
So if you think boycotting a Hilton hotel somehow boycotts Paris, you are very incorrect.
Blackstone bought Hilton. I worked on the deal. Rumor has it now that both Marriott and Starwood might be in play. Most hoteliers don't actually own the real estate their hotels sit on. They buy the dirt and build it and then sell it to an investor group/franchisee while maintaining a management contract to run the hotel. That way they can tap the value of the underlying r.e. and lessen their attractiveness as a takeover target.
Do you work with REITs by any chance?
Trump is good at one thing: self promotion. He and Michael Moore have that in common.
They are all good at self-promotion, Trump, Moore, OReilly, Limbaugh, Coulter. It's their livelihood.
Most people haven't a clue regarding how many of Trump's enterprises have failed and resulted in bankruptcy proceedings. It's difficult to lose money running a casino let alone file for bankruptcy, but Trump's managed to do it.
This is quite sad. She's $60 million poorer. We should start some fund collection for her here at Newsvine.
Well, there's always daddy..........
Paris, please don't listen to the nasty things all these people are saying about you. If you're ever in DC, drinks are on me at The Mayflower and then we can hit Ibiza. You'd love it there, darling. Your buddy Kim Kardashian was there for the opening and I'm sure I can arrange a private audience with Bill Clinton for you with enough advance notice (you know so he can make sure you know who is going to be out of town).
Remember, she's a model (somehow) and she's in movies, so she's still going to be fairly well off. And her parents don't care about what she's doing - they encourage it by not punishing her. If I were her grandfather, I'd take away the hotels and the money from all of them for being irresponsible and give it all to her sister or something. Not only is she 100% more attractive, but as far as I know she's 100% less stupid.
Huzzah! Come-uppance!
Awesome.
That's hot.
HAHAHAHA
Maybe she'll concentrate on her "music" career now. *barf*
Now that 60 Million will be better spent.
About time. Stupid whore.
I toooooooooooooootally agree.
what is the big problem with paris hilton? she's famous because she's famous. what other criteria ever existed for being famous? yeah yeah, news about her and tom cruise and all the @!$%# crazy lot of em is essentially meaningless to improving our society, but dont we all know that already?
she's hot, she's cute, she's passionately egocentric, which i admire a great deal in this day and age, and she's done time. if she wants to stay at my place cause she's homeless, she's more than welcome. i'm always up for a party, and i'm sure she's got some great connections, and i wouldnt mind meeting her agent or manager or whatever the @!$%#, at least for my own personal gain. maybe theyd read my novels and i could be famous too.
honestly, like — is it this @!$%#ing easy for some douchebag to create a valid username? what happened to this place, yo? where is my exclusive gated community, after all?
maybe it should be split between the waiters who have toiled in the Hilton Hotels for nicks..
Its ok, u only live life once! Good on Paris!!
This is great, if true.
Let's see how she deals with life without the promise of $60 mil coming into her life sometime soon.
could it be a karmic miracle?
I'm glad someone in the world isn't rewarding such stupid behavior.
