They're "just breasts"! This is the rallying cry of a network of women who have launched a campaign for the right to bathe topless at Sweden's swimming pools.
A new wave of feminists have been angered by an incident in September in which two bare-breasted young women were called ashore by a lifeguard at a swimming pool in Uppsala. When they refused to cover up, they were asked to leave the premises.
Hoorah for Swedish Feminists! You American feminists are such slackers. You should get right on that.
"Our aim is to start a debate about the unwritten social and cultural rules that sexualize and discriminate against the female body," said Astrid Hellroth and Liv Ambjörnsson.

There was a court case recently where a man was charged with molesting a woman - his defence was that 'it was only her breasts' claiming that these were not intimate or private - the court ruled against him - so saying they are only breasts is not sufficient as an answer
Sure we all like to see shapely women with bare breasts, but there is a time and a place for it, and having been at swimming pools where women past their prime display the breasts, I can say, I'd rather they didn't.
Breasts are either private, or they are not .... and this has to hold in all situations - but I tend to agree with what was said, basically, for common decency, private parts should be covered.

That's true. Ergh.
I may not want to see all of their breasts, but I will defend to the death their right to bare them!

Boobs to die for, eh?
I'm not so noble.
I will only defend the right of hot women to bare their breasts.
Sorry Jack. None are free until they're all free. I'm not the Ultimate Arbiter of Beauty.
You realise where this is going...
If women are allowed to do this, we will then get men who also want to display their private parts in public - now do we really want that !
I'm not the Ultimate Arbiter of Beauty.
You're right. I am.

There's a waiting list. Take a number. I have to warn you, though: it's a tenured position.
...and I'd probably be too old or the wrong shape or colour - never mind - my dream ends here...
Well let me take on the cause of all women then so all women can bare their breasts. Let's have some consistency in this here forum - please. We are after all talking about feminism, rights and all...aren't we?
Like the rest of you, I have a hard time keeping the fantastic out of the idealism on this one. I'm thinking that you guys really need to consider how you'd feel about your daughters, sisters or mothers taking advantage of such decriminalization. Personally, I shudder.
Who the hell am I to tell my mother, sister, daughter what she can and can not wear? Beyond "there's no way you're leaving my house wearing that" it's none of my damn business.
Further, decriminalizing it will naturally make all of my female relatives go to the grocery store sans top?
My relatives have a bit more self-control than "Wait, it's not illegal?! Let's do it!"

I wish I had your family....
Perhaps Brian and I speak from special circumstances. For that I apologize.
Ah--I read that incorrectly. "Wait--it's illegal!?! Let's do it!" tends to be more my philosophy.
