Wesley Snipes Will Spend 3 Years In Prison For Tax Fraud

advertisement

Wesley Snipes was sentenced to three years in prison – one year for each count he was convicted on for misdemeanor charges of filing a false tax return.

He was released today but must turn himself in to a federal prison when contacted by the Federal Board of Prisons and told specifically when and where.

A jury found him guilty in February of willfully failing to file taxes for three years, in which the government said he owed $2.7 million.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

Hello

First of all. the USA has millions, and millions of illegal aliens who are working, and not paying any taxes.
Why isn't this an issue.
The people who hire them, pay little tax for the amount of money they make from the work done by undocumented individuals, why isn't this an issue.
The drivers Lincense issue is nothing less than a joke, undocumented aliens are not only driving, they are operating heavy equiptment.
If they obtain licenses with fictious ID, isn't that illegal.
Why doesn't the government take care of undocumented working individuals, and the companies that hire them as far as tax evasion goes, instead of constantly picking on citizens, who 1. Belong Here , and ARE PAYING TAXES AFTER TAXES on everything they buy in this country.
Mr. Snipes may be wrong to an extent, but paying the tax he owes should be sufficient without any punishment.
Stop people from making a mockery of our government, and laughing in our faces.

Bob H.
