The guy in the knit shirt leans back in his leather chair, his hand wrapped around the joystick. On the console display, two plane-shaped icons show the available ammo. As the target vehicle crosses his screen, he squeezes the red button. The car vanishes in a fireball.
Robin Williams (I think) starred in a movie that was along these lines. Toys I believe it was called. Of course in Toys the children themselves are flying the drones but the premise remains the same. As we make war more like video games and thus make video games more capable of training our pilots are we to some extend stripping the humanity from war?
If killing another human being feels like another kill in Halo, what does that mean for us?
in Toys the children themselves are flying the drones
you havn't seen that move in a while have you?
I think the solution is more diplomacy and less killing, you can do far more damage to a country by ceasing trade with them than you could ever do firing a bullet.
Did I get the details of the movie wrong?
Yea... it's been a while. Like... probably 15 years.
