Sen. John McCain's brother, Joe, made an apparent joke today that Democratic-leaning Alexandria and Arlington are "Communist country."

Speaking at an event in support of his brother in Loudoun County, Joe McCain said, "I've lived here for at least 10 years and before that about every third duty I was in either Arlington or Alexandria, up in communist country," according to a Washington Post reporter who was there. Joe McCain, who like his brother is a veteran of the Vietnam war, then apologized, but he drew laughter from the GOP faithful at the event.

John, you might want to tell your bother that the Cold War has been over for quite some time. Calling people communists doesn't help your case. It just convinces us that you're too out of touch to be trusted with anything more recent than the 1980s.

And based on your record in the 1980s maybe that it's such a hot idea either.

The Good Old, (oops) I'm sorry, Grand Ole Party has become quite pathetic. Their Brand of politics is sickening, ranking 3 miles below fly boo boo, and trust me that is not the word I wanted to use.
