Stewpack Isn't Gonna Like This: RNC's insurance plan covers abortion

advertisement

The Republican National Committee's health insurance plan covers elective abortion – a procedure the party's own platform calls "a fundamental assault on innocent human life."

Federal Election Commission Records show the RNC purchases its insurance from Cigna. Two sales agents for the company said that the RNC's policy covers elective abortion.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

So is abortion only a cause for outrage if it's in a Democratic Bill?

I don't think this is necessarily hypocritical of Republicans. I believe that they didn't know they had this coverage in their group policy.

It is of course ridiculous when Republicans accuse Democratic members of Congress of not knowing whats in their Health Care Bill, when the RNC doesn't even know what's in their Health Insurance policy.

Heard this explained on the radio tonight.

Almost impossible for the RNC to NOT know what they were getting (it's elective...).

Talk about hypocritical.

So, it took them 18 years to review their Cigna insurance policy and make the determination that the optional abortion coverage should be dropped?

I don't know what to say about this.

So are the leaders of the GOP and the right wing:

1. Incompetent 2. Hypocritical 3. Lazy (can't be bothered to look at the policy. . . make that anything written) 4. full of BS

I vote for 5. All of the above
