A purity resolution? Really? Because the "Republicans are Nazis" meme needed more reenforcing?
Just what we need, a major percentage of the population joining an exclusive cult. And they call health care reform arrogant and rich liberals elitists! I can't wait till the secret hand shacks get established and they have midnight meetings in our city parks... Why do I feel like a stranger in a strange land?
The Tea partiers go down a rabbit hole and the RNC chases after them.
Ahh...the republican Inquisition comes to a town near you. Three strikes and you're out, period, and the unfaithful will no longer be allowed to receive holy communion at the alter of Rush and Palin.
Interesting. I've been trying to put together a manifesto of my own political beliefs... this diatribe might actually be helpful in formulating that.
I do find it interesting that it's so short sighted - Obama is mentioned in the first two items but none of their own iconic leaders, even Reagan, are mentioned anywhere. This isn't a declaration for all time, its' for the next 3.1 - 7.1 years.
It saddens me that the Democrat and Republican parties seem to be defined now, not by what they believe, but by what they oppose. Individuals, like President Obama seem to have actual opinions, but the majority and the talking heads associated with the parties would likely be lost without an enemy.
I also find it interesting that the points are conflicting... "We support smaller government, except when government intervention is needed to suppress something we disagree with."
