Saying she wanted to make her pride in America “perfectly clear,” Rep. Michele Bachmann sent a letter withdrawing her citizenship from Switzerland.

Earlier this week, reports noted that Bachmann had gained dual citizenship after marrying her husband, Marcus. He recently registered with the Swiss government in March, reports said. Both his parents were born in Switzerland.

Rep. Bachmann’s family’s three youngest children were also Swiss citizens, according to reports.
